The Liriodendron Art Gallery is pleased to announce an art exhibit of the works of Lise Lorentzen beginning May 31, 2015 continuing until June 28, 2015 located at Liriodendron, 502 W. Gordon St., Bel Air, MD 21014. Gallery hours are Sundays 1:00-4:00 p.m.
As a child in an American Norwegian community Lise always played with paints and it seemed natural for her parents to enroll her in a Rosemaling course. Rosemaling is a Norwegian decorative art traditionally done on wood, developed in the 1600s. Due to Norway’s rich artisan heritage, this decorative painting was expanded upon and developed into numerous styles. Lise has been Rosemaling for over thirty (30) years specializing in custom painting of woodenware, furniture and home interiors.
