From the Aberdeen Police Department:
On Saturday, May 9, 2015, at approximately 9:55 PM, the Aberdeen Police Department responded to W/B US Rt. 40 at Market Street for a report of a person struck by a fleeing van. Aberdeen Police Patrol and Traffic Unit responded to conduct the investigation and located Daniel Heston, 44, lying injured in the roadway. Mr. Heston had been riding his bicycle at the time of the collision. Mr. Heston was alert and conscious when transported by Aberdeen Fire and EMS to Johns Hopkins Bayview. No further information regarding his current condition is available at this time.
The exact cause of the collision is under investigation. Investigators are following up on eyewitness information indicating a motor vehicle may have struck Heston while he was operating his bike.
