From The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region, Inc.:
The Society of Italian American Businessmen (SIAB) hosted their second annual spring gala on April 17, 2015 at the Richlin Ballroom to honor The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region (The Arc NCR). The organization made a generous donation of $15,000 to support The Arc NCR’s mission to support individuals with differing abilities to live, learn and work in the community.
SIAB’s mission is to support other non-profit organizations in Harford County and surrounding areas, and to assist in the education of young Italian American students through the support of scholarships. In January of 2015, SIAB proudly announced The Arc Northern Chesapeake Region as their charitable giving recipient of the year. For 62 years, The Arc NCR has helped people with differing abilities build better lives one person at a time. They currently offer many services throughout Harford and Cecil Counties, including Supported Living, Supported Employment, Family Support Services, Treatment Foster Care, Community Partners and Transitioning Youth Services.
“Under Mark Dardozzi’s leadership, this pivotal group has grown…their support for Harford County’s non-profits is truly amazing,” says The Arc NCR’s Director of Development and Executive Director of the Foundation Board, Julie Chmura. “All members are kind, giving men who are really making a difference in our community. We are honored we were chosen for this year’s donation.”
In order to raise the charitable giving money necessary to support area non-profits and assist with scholarships, SIAB will continue to hold two annual events: their spring gala in April, and a linguine and crab feast in September. The future for SIAB is bright indeed, and many area charities and students will benefit from the work done by this passionate group of individuals.
