Edgewood Woman Found Guilty of Murder in June Shooting Death of Former Boyfriend

From the State’s Attorney’s Office of Harford County:

Tanasha Earlene Siena, age 35 of Edgewood, was convicted of Second Degree Murder and Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Crime of Violence on April 21, 2015 by a Harford County jury after a six day trial.

Siena had been charged in the shooting death of her former boyfriend, George S. Moore, Jr. on June 2, 2014. Mr. Moore had been found in the bedroom of the house that the couple shared on Mahonia Way in Edgewood. He had been shot. Siena claimed that she had shot Moore in self-defense.

Prosecutors Diane Adkins Tobin and Alison M. Healey, working with detectives from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, were able to reconstruct a timeline of the events leading up to the shooting and use the physical evidence at the scene of the shooting to rebut the claim of self-defense.

Deputy State’s Attorney Tobin stated, “The jury reviewed all of the evidence and did not believe the defendant’s claim of self-defense. The evidence produced by the investigation showed that Siena had become enraged that Mr. Moore was leaving the house for another woman. There was no evidence of domestic violence in the home or in their relationship. We never believed her self-defense claim and we are satisfied with the verdict.”

After the conviction, Siena was remanded to the Harford County Detention Center. A sentencing date has not been set.
