COUNTY EMPLOYEES SET TO GET A LONG AWAITED RAISE IN THE NEXT FISCAL YEAR. County Executive Barry Glassman announced yesterday that a $1,000 Merit increase per qualified employee would be included in the upcoming budget request. The County Executive has also funded the Board of Education $5 million above maintenance of effort. $3.1 million is dedicated to teacher salaries. The Sheriff’s Department will receive a $500 per employee increase and the Sheriff is requested to match it with savings from his budget. Classroom technology for Harford County Public Schools is an additional quarter of a million dollars allocated. Capital (building) projects have been tailored back in this budget. The County Executive said it is time to invest in in our people and education while at the same time strengthening our communities.
ROAD CLOSURE Beginning Monday April 20, 2015, between the hours of 9 am and 4 pm, RING FACTORY ROAD will be closed between Tollgate and Somerville (for approx. 2 weeks) to through traffic. This is due to utility construction in the roadway. School buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed at all times. The public is asked to take an alternate route during the work hours.
