From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
Deputies from the Southern Precinct of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2100 block of Carson’s Run Road in Aberdeen on Friday Night for the report of an assault involving a firearm.
Upon arrival, shortly after 8 p.m., deputies located a 27-year-old male in front of the residence who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. First aid was rendered by deputies on the scene. EMS personnel transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. Investigators from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division responded to continue the investigation
Sheriff’s Office Criminal investigators have determined the 27-year-old victim of the shooting, a female and another male on scene knew one another and became involved in a physical altercation at the address. A gun was produced and the victim was shot.
Detectives have arrested Jason Harris, 40, of Belcamp, and charged him with Second Degree Assault. He was transported to the Harford County Detention Center where he was later released on his own recognizance by a District Court Commissioner. The female involved in the altercation suffered minor injuries and was treated and released from the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is continuing the investigation. No further details are available at this time.
The case will be referred to the Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine if additional charges will be filed.
