From the Aberdeen Police Department:
On Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at approximately 10:20 AM, officers from the Aberdeen Police Department responded to the 500 block of S. Parke Street for a report of a burglary in progress. Officers had been provided a detailed description of the suspects prior to their arrival.
Officers arrived and located a female, appearing to be a lookout, at the front of the residence. Jessica M. Meller was stopped, identified, and detained. Additional officers responded to the back of the residence and observed an open door. Officers quickly entered and secured the residence locating Avery Justin Reil standing inside. Reil exited the residence resulting in a brief foot pursuit. Pursuing officers quickly overcame Reil and placed him under arrest.
Avery Reil was charged with burglary, malicious destruction of property, and resisting arrest. Meller, who was discovered to be six months pregnant, will be charged at a later date.
The Aberdeen Police Department commends those that pick up a telephone and report crimes in progress. With their assistance police are able respond immediately and apprehend those that pose a true threat to public safety.
