From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
(March 21, 2015 – ABERDEEN, MD) – Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for the suspect involved in the murder of a man at the Perrywood Gardens Apartments located at 301 Mayberry Drive, Aberdeen, Md.
The victim is identified as Richard Anthony Jackson, 26, with a last known address in Harford County.
At approximately 2:55 a.m. today, deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Southern Precinct responded to a call for a shooting at the Perrywood Gardens Apartment. Responding deputies found the victim inside a common area of the building located at 301 Mayberry Drive with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the upper body. EMS personnel responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Investigators from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and Evidence Collection Unit responded to the scene to continue the investigation.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was shot shortly before 2:55 a.m. today. The victim’s body was transported to the medical examiner’s office in Baltimore, Md. An autopsy was expected to be conducted today.
Harford County Sheriff’s Office investigators processed the scene for evidence and conducted numerous interviews throughout the investigation. The search for the suspect is continuing.
Harford County Sheriff’s Office investigators were assisted by deputies from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Southern Precinct and deputies from the Special Operations Division Crime Suppression Unit. Also assisting was the Aberdeen Volunteer Fire Department.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is continuing this investigation. No further details are available at this time.

“just about to turn his life around” I hear that phrase used quite often on news interviews by friends or associates of a person who was the victim of a homicide. What does that term mean? Does that mean that the victim reduced his/her drug sales by 20 % or his/her gun related robberies, assaults, and homicides by 10 %. Or….. Could it mean that they were trying to get a job, education, or take care of their children and become good role models? I rarely see those people making those type of statements really explaining what they meant.

I have been trying to find a picture of this young man to see if I knew him or ever seen him around. This is crazy. No luck yet though. In my research it appears as if he had recently been stabbed in edgewood. If so. If the same person someone wanted him dead apparently. I wonder why?

Although that can be true it really is case by case. Harford county/ Cecil county is racist and I have witnessed this first hand. Ask anyone about the Aberdeen Police Department. They are terrible. They are known to plant drugs on people. Then you have people going to court, their words against the “precious” policeman, who you think is going to win? So now you have a record and you are being labeled and judge by people. Maybe you were at the wrong place at the wrong time or who knows, but trust every person with these labels are not the bad criminals you all make it out to be. Now this person has too many of the same things and obviously met an early demise for a reason. I don’t judge him because I don’t know him. Instead I wonder what made him this way? What was childhood and his upbringing like to create a person that would be a follower(joining a gang) and commit burglary and violent crimes. Let me tell you something, as a caucasian individual I am discriminated against on a daily basis. I know that I am not liked because of the color of my skin. One day I went to my mailbox and realized that someone had left me a white cracker. I guess that meant something, huh. I work with many wonderful people and a good amount are Black. I am nice to everyone and expect the same but it doesnt always turn out that way. Half of my ancestors were eastern European and sadly, some were likely victims of the Nazi Germany regime and after being starved, beaten and experimented on, were put to death in the gas chambers.
