From the office of Congressman Andy Harris:
Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) is pleased to announce the 2015 Congressional Art Competition. Each spring, the House of Representatives sponsors the competition to recognize the artistic talents of high school students in each congressional district throughout the country.
The competition is open to all high school students from Maryland’s First Congressional District. Each congressional district will select one winner and that student will have the opportunity to display his or her artwork for one year in the U.S. Capitol building, alongside the work of other contest winners from around the country.
“The Congressional Art Competition is a great opportunity to recognize and celebrate the gifted young artists of Maryland’s First District,” said Congressman Harris. “It is an honor to be able to display the art of First District runners-up in my offices, and I eagerly anticipate seeing the winning piece hanging on the winding wall of the U.S. Capitol.”
The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982 and since then over 650,000 high school students have been involved. For full competition guidelines and the student release form, please visit Congressman Harris’ website at harris.house.gov. Go to the “Serving You” tab at the top of the screen and click on “Art Competition.”
The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 17, 2015.

A Surprising but actually Pleasing announcement out of Mr. Harris’ office.
Surprising for a man who has never met an Endowment for the Arts or a Public Radio or Television Organization that he didn’t want to eliminate.
Pleasing that student artists will have an avenue to seek recognition for their work.
How about contests to select student art .for exhibit in Mr. Harris’ various district offices?

He only wants to end the ridiculous subsidy to these liberal organizations that don’t need and shouldn’t be getting taxpayer money.
Have we all forgotten NPR’s white president firing black reporter Juan Williams because he said something she didn’t agree with? I guess we have.

Wasn’t this the same moron who was winking to the tv camera. He looked like a big fool and showed how much he takes being on the floor. He needs to be voted out and stop acting like a jr high. I’m a republican and can’t stand him.

I suggest you stand with the group of 54 against Obozo’s Illegal Amnesty.
I assure you that if you don’t take action we will not forget your inaction come election time.

From a man who likes the think of himself as a conservative. He only blocks lots and lots of items from being brought up. HE gets on the news and tells DC about how they cannot have marijuana legal in the district. Last time I checked, he is voted into office by Marylanders. He should stop trying to be a power player, in his mind, and be concerned with helping his constituents. I see someone commented about his “camera” antics and that was totally unprofessional. One of the answers was that his mom watches CSPAN. Well you need to get a life! WE voted you into office to work for your district and not to make nice with someone on CSPAN and tell DC voters about what they can and cannot do.
