From the Harford County Health Department:
The Harford County Health Department announces it is extending the hours of operation of its Vital Records office. Beginning March 2nd, the Vital Records office will be open from 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Previously, the Vital Records office was open Monday thru Friday, from 8am to 12pm, requiring anyone needing a birth or death certificate after 12:00pm either to wait until another day or drive to Reisterstown or Cecil County. “By opening the office throughout our daytime business hours, we can eliminate the inconvenience of a long-distance drive for most of our clients who need a copy of a birth or death certificate. We also hope this will help reduce any stress that accompanies having to obtain these documents,” commented Ms. Marcy Austin, Harford County Health Department Director of Administration.
The Harford County Health Department Vital Records office provides certified copies of birth and death certificates to eligible individuals. Birth certificates are issued to individuals who were born in Maryland and are on the State of Maryland Online System. The health department can issue certified birth certificates for individuals born in Maryland from 1940 to present. You must apply for both certificates in person, at the 120 S. Hays Street, Bel Air MD 21014 location.
