A York, Pa. woman was killed in a crash Monday morning on Route 439 in White Hall amid snowy conditions, Maryland State Police said.
Philomena Addo-Asah was westbound on Route 439 near the intersection with Route 23 in a white Honda Civic when weather conditions caused her vehicle to cross the double yellow line and collide with an eastbound Mack dump truck.
Addo-Asah was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said; she was believed to be in her mid-20s, but an exact age was not immediately available. The driver of the Mack truck, James Hanna Jr. of Dover, Pa. was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with minor injuries.
The crash was the second fatal accident connected to poor weather in the county in just over a week; another driver was killed in an accident on the morning of Jan. 18 on a separate section of Route 23 near High Point Road. That incident was attributed to icy conditions experienced throughout the county that morning.

I would be interested in how far west of Route 23 on Route on Route 439 this accident occurred.
There is a low lying area between the farms before you get to Jolly Acres Road that is always wet after a rain or snow.
If traffic is coming from the opposite direction you don’t have any choice but to stop or go through it.
I’ve seen other vehicles in this area roll over in the same area. The highway administration should do something about the drainage before another motorist is hurt or killed.
My sympathies to the Addo-Asah family.

I agree Gary. ^^^
That is a dangerous spot! I know of several people who have lost control of their vehicle there.
There is either a hydroplane or ice, it should be fixed!

The accident was not too far West of 23. It was the last curve on the right hand side of 439 just as you go up the incline and reach the stop sign at route 23.
Very sad – I travel that road every day.
