Let’s see, what did I miss? Teachers need more money, Havre de Grace needs a New School. How about over paid and unnecessary,
Jim in Hickory says
I actually watched some of it till I was ready to throw up.
A cavalcade of government workers all complaining how they need more money and not a one of them concerned where or how it is obtained. Glassman should require at his next budget meeting that everyone wanting more money needs to present at least 2 ideas on how to get it from the current budget.
The hogs at the trough have no shame in their gluttony..

Should we wait until you think it’s OK for a county employee to voice their opinion? It is a public forum and any one is allowed to speak. I have spoken with the CE a couple of times. He seems a reasonable and capable CE. He will have some choices to make and so will teachers and employees.

Oh,, you gonna give Jim a coronary! Standard procedure to give new cabinet raises as it happens during a transition. Don’t know why Aegis
or Dagger don’t request salaries under Freedom of Info Act…
Jim in Hickory says
Actually I think it’s great they and you have the freedom to say what ever you want. It bolsters the rest of us in our already known facts that you are clueless on how to save money and cut spending yet all for sucking the taxpayers dry in your never ending quest to do less for more.
After everyone of them spoke Barry should have responded with and where does that money come from?
If you bunch of idiots were on a sinking boat your solution would be to drill a hole in the bottom to let the water out.

Jim,
Actually the county and schools have been asked to do a lot more for less the past 6 yrs. Even Glassman recognize this fact that’s why he has rejected capital projects to concentrate on our workforce. I don’t expect any major changes but a new perspective regarding the county’human resource needs.I understand how you feel about county employees, but your rants carry no merit from anyone that has lived or received services from the county.

1st idea – County has a large surplus of over $85 million. Pay teachers steps and raises again.
2nd idea- raise taxes.
3rd idea – increase permit, water, landfill and sewer fees so those departments don’t depend on the general fund.
4th idea – Send less money to independent cities, why aren’t they truly independent from HCG since they have their own tax?
5th idea – Reduce council staff from 15 back to 4 like it was before Boniface took office!
6th idea – Pay new directors same salary as previous administration. I
Maybe the Dagger can call Ms.Mumby and get an explanation why new directors and deputies got a raise with the new administration. I better stop now before Jumbo calls Glassman again!!!
