The Board of Education of Harford County met for an open business meeting at 8:00 p.m. in the Board Room of the A. A. Roberty Building and took the following actions and received the following presentations:

–Superintendent’s Report

Congratulations to the Business Service Finance Department as they were recently awarded the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its annual budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014. This is the 12th year this honor has been earned by HCPS. The award represents a significant achievement by HCPS, reflecting the commitment of the school system’s leadership team to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the budget award, HCPS had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation.

The next Board of Education business meeting will be held Monday, January 26, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. All Board meetings are held in the A. A. Roberty Building. To access all future meeting dates and agendas, log onto the school system website at www.hcps.org.

The Board will hold a Budget Public Input Session on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. in the Board Room in the A. A. Roberty Building. There will be a Board Work Session on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room in the A. A. Roberty Building.
