From Harford County Government:
BEL AIR, Md., (Jan. 5, 2015) – Harford County Executive Barry Glassman issued a public invitation Monday for applicants to serve on county boards and commissions in his new administration:
“Public input is vital to county government in service of our customers, the citizens of Harford County. One important pathway for public input is through volunteer service on the county’s many boards and commissions. As the seventh Harford County executive, I am deeply grateful to the many volunteers who have given their time and talent to such service over the years. I encourage these volunteers, along with newly interested citizens, to submit an application for appointment. Individuals with subject matter expertize, related experience, or a simple a desire to serve are encouraged to apply,” County Executive Glassman said.
By county law, some boards and commissions have a set of guidelines establishing qualifications for membership. All of the county executive’s nominees for appointment are subject to further confirmation by the Harford County Council.
More information about each board and commission, what they do, and who may be appointed can be found along with a common application form on the county website at http://www.harfordcountymd.gov/boards/. Most county boards and commissions are advisory in nature.
Mr. Glassman concluded by thanking all applicants:
“Finally, I offer my sincere thanks to all applicants for their interest in public service. Together, we will work to make Harford County Maryland’s new center of opportunity for all.”
