From the Bel Air Police Department:
On December 30, 2014 at approximately 11:00 pm Bel Air Police responded to Freedom Fighters Bail Bonds at 100 South Main Street in reference to an armed robbery. An employee told police that an African American male with a deep voice approached her and implied that he had a handgun and forced the employee to give him cash. The suspect fled the business in an unknown direction.
If you have any information regarding this incident please contact Bel Air Police at 410-638-4500 of you may email Detective Travis Foreman at tforeman@belairmd.org to provide information.
Rand McNally says
Let’s be honest here – was it implied or inferred? There is a difference you know.
Phil Dirt says
The article is correct. The robber implied that he had a gun, the employee inferred that he had a gun.
Bad Boys Bad Boys says
I’m sure Dog the Bounty Hunter would have jumped the desk and taken care of the “alleged” robber. Also, if the person gets caught will the bondsman bail him out. It’s a way to make money. i’m sure the fine outstanding members of society are getting bonded out.

It might have been a former customer who cased the joint on his previous visit and found it to be an easy mark.
Al Sharpton belongs in Jail says
Could be Obamas son. Somebody call the three stooges Sharpton Holder and Obama.
Concerned Teacher says
Not that I’m a big Obama fan, but this remark is (A) ignorant, (B) racist, and (C) stupid because the facts are that Obama has only daughters. I know you’re trying to make an inbred, racist, white superiority joke, but it just doesn’t work for me.
Kharn says
Paraphrased, Obama said “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon Martin” during that media circus.
BillH says
It would be more informative if they gave his race rather than country of origin. There are plenty of white people from Africa.
hello says
I agree…The police use #1, #2. True. There are white people from Africa. I know plenty of people who are African American’s and are white. Does anyone remember when Malcolm X went to Africa? He was surprised to see white Muslims and that changed one of his precieved notions. On another note…..I’m sure he will be able to get out on 1% instead of the normal 10%

We needs to find this cheese and string em up.

Africa is not a country you idiots!
Uncle Tom says
Yeah CDEV, its the dark continent.
Soul Crusher 2 says
Actually, Little Miss Concerned, it was in reference to a remark made by Obama to the national media that he believed that thug-wannabe Trayvon Martin would look like his son (if he had one).
So, in response to your arm flailing, self-righteous response: (d) Shut up because nobody cares what you think.
If you feel compelled to reply, because you are probably the type that NEEDS to have the last word, then please iterate to us what exactly was so racist about the original post?
Concerned Teacher says
I don’t *need* the last word, in fact I rarely get it, and it doesn’t matter anyway because nobody cares what I think. However, you did invite me to reply. Are you defending the comment? Why invoke the names of Al Sharpton, Barack Obama, and Eric Holder (someone most people have no idea even exists) in an article about a black man committing a criminal act if it isn’t to call out their collective blackness (which, to me, is racist)? In the article about the white guys who held up a place with a machete, no one associated them with George Bush, Pat Robertson, and Rand Paul.
Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe there is a ridiculously funny joke in there somewhere that I am totally missing due to my arm-flailing and my self-righteousness.
Uncle Tom says
Concerned Teacher, Why is it the teachers unions are in the back pocket of the Democratic Party. Why not look at the bloated budgets of Public School Systems. Why some much added head count per student with lack of results.
What do you teach, Ebonics?
Concerned Teacher says
What in the blue hell are you talking about?
#1: I’m not in the union. I haven’t been in the union since my third year of teaching.
#2: School teachers are more likely Democrats than Republicans because the profile of a new teacher is overwhelmingly young, idealistic, and less concerned with making money and more concerned with making a difference, which is the Democratic demographic.
#3: I look at the budget of HCPS every time it comes up for discussion. It is not bloated at all. It is, however, top heavy, with too much money in the central office and not enough of it in the schools.
#4: The reason that the per pupil number is so high in HCPS (and in public schools in general) is because of the enormous cost of teaching special needs students. A few years back I had a class of 23 students, 19 of whom had IEPs. Just the system-wide cost for case management of these students is hugs. Meetings, testing, specialized pull out services, record keeping, compliance with HCPS and Federal guidellines all add to the per pupil cost of teaching. This doesn’t even take into account the non-monetary costs of teaching them, including such things as the amount of individual time they take to teach which takes away from instructional time from the group.
#5: I haven’t heard the word Ebonics in years. I don’t think even the black community uses that word or pushes that concept anymore. If you’re going to insult me, could you at least do it in modern language?
Union Member says
“School teachers are more likely Democrats than Republicans because the profile of a new teacher is overwhelmingly young, idealistic, and less concerned with making money and more concerned with making a difference, which is the Democratic demographic.”
At what point in a teachers career do they give up this idealistic thought and become a Republican? Let’s be honest here, we certainly hear lots of chatter about teacher pay being low and not keeping pace with the rest of society. Guess all those folks making that claim are Republicans?
Au Contraire says
Au contraire Concerned. Idealism is not the sole proprietorship of the young, leftist educators. In fact, today’s real idealists are the entrepreneurs who seek to make it on their own – to create things new and make a personal mark. A creative and idealistic mind would never use their mental fists, like cured hams, to pound defenseless students with all things politically correct.
