From the Maryland State Fire Marshal Office:
Deputy State Fire Marshals have charged Kathy Lynn Ingram (55) for intentionally setting fire to the basement apartment she was renting at 215 South Union Avenue in Havre De Grace. The property is managed by Dennis Apartments.
The 6:41 PM one alarm blaze originally occurred on December 1, 2014. Forty-five firefighters from Susquehanna and Aberdeen controlled the fire within 15 minutes after arriving on the scene. The fire temporarily displaced 11 people and caused an estimated $60,000 in damage to the structure and contents.
On the evening of the fire, Ingram was transported to Harford Memorial Hospital on an unrelated medical emergency after she made contact with officers from Havre De Grace Police who had responded to assist the fire department. The investigation later revealed Ingram was responsible for setting her apartment kitchen on fire. Deputy State Fire Marshals arrested Ingram upon her release from the hospital today.
Ingram was charged with 1st Degree Arson, 2nd Degree Arson, Malicious Burning 1st Degree and two counts of Reckless Endangerment. She was transported to Harford County Detention Center where she is currently awaiting bond review.
