The speakers for the program are Jansen Robinson and Tom Fitzpatrick, newly elected members of the Board of Education.
JANSEN ROBINSON-Mr. Robinson is the Chairman of the Edgewood Community Council. He was previously the Director of Security to the DC school system. Mr. Robinson wants to reach out to the community before he is sworn in as in the past, he has been critical of those who did not maintain contact with their constituents. Mr. Robinson wants to continue meetings with the Community Advisory Council, even better than Dion Guthrie during his time on the County Council. Mr. Robinson will not take office until the start of the new fiscal year on July 1, 2015.
TOM FITZPATRICK- Mr. Fitzpatrick was appointed two years ago. He stated that he won despite not having the support of the Harford County Teacher’s Union. Mr. Fitzpatrick knew he had a tough campaign ahead of him. Mr. Fitzpatrick talked about the tough financial situation for the County Government as well as the school system, whose budget has flat lined for last 5 years to the point where teachers are leaving Harford County for Cecil and York (PA) counties. Mr. Fitzpatrick noted that new County Executive Barry Glassman had a plan to restructure the county government, but not the school system. Currently, the county spends 44 cents of every dollar on education. When David Craig took office, the county spent 53 cents of every dollar on education.
A discussion ensued of the state of education in Harford County.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:31p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Thomas C. Myers, Secretary

Democratic Party is completely irrelevant in hazard county. They can’t have a vision because they are as blind as bat. With Odumbo Osama in charge things won’t get better for the next 2 years and after that it will be Rodham-Clinton and that dummy VP from DE slugging it out… God help this party get back to American values and stop being the party of Si Senor, una cerveza por favor…
