A fire in the early morning hours Saturday destroyed a Havre de Grace home, according to fire officials.
The fire was reported just after 1 a.m. Saturday by an individual walking their dog near a two-story home in the 300 block of Pintail Drive in Havre de Grace, according to a release from the Office of the State Fire Marshal. Forty-six firefighters from the Susquehanna Hose Company, Aberdeen Fire Department, and Level Volunteer Fire Company brought the blaze under control in approximately one hour.
The fire was traced to the home’s basement ceiling, but the exact cause of the fire remained under investigation. The home sustained an estimated $300,000 in damage, with damages to its contents totaling $100,000.
