From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
[November 19, 2014, Edgewood, MD] On November 18 at 3:53 p.m. deputies responded to a parking lot in the area of Route 40 and Joppa Farm Road in Joppa for a reported motor vehicle crash with injury.
Upon arrival deputies discovered a 34-year-old white male injured and his vehicle damaged. Deputies were able to determine that an aggressive driving incident occurred between the victim and suspect while they were traveling east on Route 40. The incident started to escalate and the victim pulled into the parking lot to avoid further confrontation.
After the victim got out of his car, the suspect started driving at the victim. The victim attempted to use his car as a shield before being struck by the suspect’s vehicle and carried more than 50 feet. The suspect then fled the area.
Upon further investigation, deputies were able to identify the operator of the vehicle as Matthew Bredlow, 27, of Bel Air. Deputies arrested and charged Bredlow with attempted 2nd degree murder, aggravated assault and other related charges. He was transported to the Harford County Detention Center where he is being held on $500,000 bond.
Medics transported the victim to Johns Hopkins Bayview where he was treated for minor injuries.
Wonder why the “victim” got out of their car? Why not just drive to the Sheriff Offices preceint if someone is road raging that bad?
THe might have figgured that the person would continue onwards. I would like to know why we have more Bel Air Criminals committing crime on the Rt. 40 corridor. Bel Air needs to get their crime problem under control!

BillH, I agree with you. As a community, we keep voting for the same judges and state’s attorney term after term so we have no one to blame but ourselves as to why we have so many dangerous criminals running amok. The criminal element continues to wrack up more more victims while adding little to nothing to society. Law enforcement must be frustrated to see the same ugly a## criminals over and over.
I voted against continuation for every sitting judge in the last election but the overwhelming majority voted for them. People get the government they deserve.
By the way, that’s one awful haircut.
Matthew has 27 line items on Md Judiciary case search and he was free to terrorize yet one more innocent person. We have that other POS Kyle Johnson who got 12 months in Harford Hilton for killing a 15 year old girl.
But Hot Damn we got Michelle Talbert 18 months and total restitution for insurance fraud. Our harford county prosecutors are handicapped in more ways than you can see.

It’s a shame we don’t have chain gangs any more
Several years ago, Sheriff Meadows wanted to establish a so called chain gang (sans the chains) that would operate publicly within the County doing road cleanup. Essentially, a litter patrol, that would be in Inmate Uniforms that the citizens could see doing labor instead of just sitting in jail on the taxpayer dime.
The so called chain gang never materialized as Meadows received push back from other County government entities that this so called chain gang would be taking work away from otherwise paid county positions. The internal workings of government never cease to amaze me.
That makes no sense because DOC uses pre-release inmates to pick up litter all over this state……..they even pay the inmates to do it!

While I am not absolutely certain, I think that back in the Meadows time frame, a jail work crew would go each day to do ground maintenance and stripe/mark the athletic fields at Thomas Run athletic fields. That work crew was scuttled because the P&R folks wanted to hire more county workers to do that work.
I’ve never seen Harford County Highways, SHA or MDTA picking up trash except for a massive cleanup that needs the roadway cleared.
The only people I notice who pick up litter are property owners and those who are serving community service or volunteer community service.
There is at least 1 dedicated litter patrol I see all the time in the Hickory area. Consists of at least 4 people including a large older woman that sits in a very large late model county owner pickup.
I would guess there are more of these crews around the county.
Maybe that’s the reason the older woman is large because she sits in on her A$$
