From the Maryland State Highway Administration:
Weekday Lane Closures Scheduled; Work on Saturdays Possible
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is resurfacing a section of US 1 (Conowingo Road) in Harford County. Work began last week and will be complete late fall, weather permitting.
The project covers a one mile section of US 1 between US 1 Business and Gibson Road and includes milling (removing the top layer of pavement), patching and resurfacing. SHA’s contractor for the $707,000 project is American Infrastructure of Fallston.
Crews are permitted to work between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays if necessary. Motorists may encounter temporary lane closures on US 1 and the contractor will use flaggers, barrels, cones and signs to direct two-way traffic through the one-lane work area.
Citizens who have questions about highway maintenance on US 1 or any other State highway in Harford County may contact SHA’s District 4 Office – Maintenance Division in Hunt Valley at 410-229-2360, toll-free at 1-866-998-0367 or by e-mail: shadistrict4@sha.state.md.us.
While SHA and its partners work hard to maintain safe traffic mobility in work zones, each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert – look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
