From Mike Perrone Jr.:
Throughout the course of this election season, Dion Guthrie has labeled me as an opponent of economic development. This is nonsense. Economic development is what drives our quality of life – opposing it would be akin to opposing eating or breathing.
What I oppose is government’s habit of giving away or loaning taxpayer money to businesses IN THE NAME OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. Particularly when that money is desperately needed elsewhere.
Here is the essence of the problem with politicians like Mr. Guthrie – they aren’t willing to prioritize. True leadership involves making difficult decisions, starting with making a list. At the top of that list are the funding priorities that nearly everyone recognizes – public safety and schools. But every list must have a bottom. And at the bottom of my list is the money that government lavishes on businesses with political connections.
My motivation to run for County Council lies in the old cliché that if you want something done right, sometimes you just have to do it yourself. I am tired of politicians that refuse to prioritize. If you are too, then please stand with me on Election Day.
Sincerely,
Mike Perrone Jr.
Candidate for Harford County Council District A

Can Guthrie spell “prioritize”?
Tony Jondo says
He sure can’t spell Joppatowne
Bill says
Mike , Tell the truth. You’re running cause you need a job. Don’t talk about tax dollars when you don’t even own property in Harford County.
Jim says
You are an ignorant ass. If you knew the truth you wouldn’t say this.
Mike Perrone Jr. says
I’ve owned property in Harford County for the past nine years. And the job bit – that’s downright funny 🙂
Vicki Seitzinger says
Don’t worry, Mike. Bill is making the rounds this am with lots of made up stories. That’s what folks do when the frustration of lacking a strong defense becomes more than they can handle.

Tea Parties are for little girls with imaginary friends.

Mike Perrone needs a do nothing job at HCG and the only one in which he doesn’t have to be hired by the normal process of showing qualifications, experience and a particular skill set. Politician is the easiest way to get it first, bring in his cronies, family and friends and parlay his new gig into a well paying job in the future as Bonifarce has done for himself…
Joppatowne Res says
Ha! What’s that say for Union Pres Guthrie? 100k salary for a union job, and part-time council pay of 37k! Until they vote in their own pay raise of course. Wonder how his friends and family plan is, and if I can get in…
Greg says
My passion for this county and our district and my continued intrest in this community is making me conceder a run for office..
FFFR says
Mike, you say you are not a politician!?? well…you are. I can’t find any land records in your name in the Joppatowne/Edgewood area. Did you recently buy land so you could run in Harford County?
Jim says
Funny. A wild goose chase to find the property. It’s there. Keep looking. This is silly. It makes no difference but some are obsessed.
Arturro Nasney says
I was not aware that property ownership was a prerequisit for holding elected office. I know it was that way in Colonial times. The elite property owners weere cqalled ‘landed gentry.” I would guess that FFFR stands for alower status for any of us who rent.
SoulCrusher says
Candidates have to be a Harford County Resident and Qualified Voter for 2 years and be a Resident of the Council District at the time of the election or appointment. No, they don’t have to own property, just reside there.
