From the City of Aberdeen:
The financial rating service, Standard and Poor’s, has announced that it has raised the City of Aberdeen’s bond rating from AA to AA+. Their rating reflects several positive opinions regarding Aberdeen’s overall economy and the operation of the City government.
Aberdeen is the only municipality in Northeast Maryland to go through the bond rating process. Since the rating is very positive, the City can conduct business with a lower cost of borrowing money and therefore having available funds for other expenditures. The Harford County government enjoys an AAA bond rating.
Mayor Michael E. Bennett commented that “The conservative fiscal approach that we apply to our budgeting and management of the City has facilitated this upgrade in our bond rating. We in the City government are quietly taking care of our business every day.”

Wonderful,, now the town can afford to fix the broken windows in the Money making building (NOT), the town built next to Target in Aberdeen…what a waste!
word on the street says
Did not know the down paid for that building, but they can’t sweep the street on east side of town and clean up the trash around the train station. Maybe they don’t care about that part of town.

Don’t worry, 4 lane each direction Route 22 is coming too. Just in time for everyone to be “BRAC’d” again to some other state.
Love how they eminent domain every home. You think they will eminent domain that fancy, freshly built Aberdeen Volunteer Fire sub station? He he he he.
In the 70s there were always surveyors pipe dreaming and wasting money, talking about making 22 two full lanes all the way to Bel Air.
PissedOffRepublican says
can you just imagine,,,the land grab to put 4 lanes from Aberdeen to Bel Air??? WOOOOOOOW

All for nothing. A majority of County and State roads in the county have minimal traffic until all the “me first” booger pickers go to work and get off of work.
Racing stop light to stop light, driving 2 feet behind the rear of another motorist. Don’t forget about courtesy.
Harford County has been flooded with drivers who don’t even let cars make a turn in front of them from a perpendicular road even when the light ahead is right and they are going to be waiting for 2-3 minutes anyway. Booger pickers and their stick figure family stickers.

The Town of Aberdeen did not build the building it was built by a private corporation. You idiots need to get your news somewhere else. Who cares if it sets empty. They are paying more taxes on the property now then when it was an overgrown quarry.
