A Bel Air man was arrested after scaling a fence outside the White House and entering the North Lawn, according to media reports.
Dominic Adesanya, 23, of Bel Air was quickly apprehended by Secret Service agents, according to the Associated Press and NBC News.
Adesanya climbed a section of the north fence and was arrested by Secret Service agents and canine units on regular patrol, the AP reported. He was unarmed at the time of his arrest, a Secret Service spokesman told the news service
The incident comes just over a month after a Texas man jumped the presidential mansion’s fence and dashed past Secret Service agents before being brought down in the East Room.
“Every day the Secret Service is challenged to ensure security at the White House complex while still allowing public accessibility to a national historical site,” the secret service said in a Sept. 20 release. “The challenge of securing the White House complex from security threats is ever present.”
