Throughout the county and the state, health insurance consulting representatives called “Navigators” and “Assisters” are reaching out to the community with education, detailed information about qualified health insurance programs, to help with applications and enrollment, and to discuss health insurance plan options. One-to one service allows local representatives to understand everyone’s unique circumstances and provide personal solutions designed to meet the needs of individuals and families.
Health Officer Susan Kelly acknowledges the importance of raising awareness about the Maryland Health Connection. “Maryland’s health insurance marketplace is where residents and small businesses can shop, compare and enroll in health coverage. With the help of trained professionals, it is easier for citizens to take full advantage of what is available in the way of services.”
On Saturday, November 15th, certified Navigators also will be on-hand at the Bel Air branch of the Harford County Public Library, located at 100 E. Pennsylvania Avenue in Bel Air from 1:00 to 4:00pm to host a program entitled, “Learn the Ins and Outs’ of Health Insurance.” Enrollment options and the enrollment process will be discussed there, as well, and staff will entertain questions.
More information is available by calling the toll-free Seedco Hotline at 866-492-6057, by contacting the Health Department’s Division of Care Coordination at 410-273-5626 and asking about the Maryland Health Connection or by visiting www.harfordcountyhealth.com.
