Harford County Public Library is pleased to announce the appointment of 2 new board members, Taryn J. Martin and Durbin P. Vido plus this year’s high school student representative, Sarah Casper-Woodhead`.
Ms. Taryn J. Martin has been a Language Arts Teacher with the Harford County Public School system in Aberdeen for 13 years and has an M.A. in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment from Walden University and a B.A. in English Language and Literature from the University of Maryland. Her participation in children’s programs, Summer Reading programs, author talks, Foundation Gala and the Havre de Grace New Branch Focus Meeting reflect her interest in the Library and her passion to be actively involved in promoting issues, programs and resources to the community.
Durbin P. Vido is Managing Director and Senior Vice President at SunTrust Private Wealth Management and has a B.A. degree in Economics from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Xavier University. Along with his involvement in the national and regional Arthritis Foundation, he contributes his time to various recreational sports that his sons are involved with including Assistant Soccer Coach at the Fallston Recreational Council, and shares time with them attending many library programs.
“The excellent addition of Ms. Martin and Mr. Vido to the Library Board of Trustees will ensure that the library’s mission and commitment to serving the Harford County community continues,” stated Mary Hastler, Chief Executive Officer.
Ms. Sarah Casper-Woodhead, Student Representative, is a high school senior at Fallston and an avid reader. Ms. Casper-Woodhead will serve for a one-year term.
Harford County Public Library Board of Trustees is governed under the Laws of Maryland relating to Public Libraries in the Annotated Code of Maryland under the Maryland State Department of Education.
