The Harford County Department of Community Services and other partners present the upcoming Community Conversation, Preparing for Independence: Got Housing? The event takes place on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 6pm-8pm at the McFaul Activity Center, 525 W. MacPhail Road in Bel Air.
People with disabilities often have unique concerns as they search for appropriate housing. This Community Conversation will explore information about living independently, housing options, staffing and more. Parents will learn how to take the first step in planning for their young adult’s housing independence.
Participants will have the opportunity to meet and greet representatives from Habitat for Humanity, Harford County Housing Agency, and the Fair Housing Office. Presenters include Diane Dressler with Community Life Resources and Mary Scott, Transition Resource Teacher.
The Harford County Department of Community Services, Commission on Disabilities, in partnership with Harford County Public Schools Special Education Department is presenting the Community Conversation.
