The League of Women Voters-Harford, the local chapter of AAUW and the Political Awareness Association of Harford Community College are jointly sponsoring a forum for County Executive, Council President and County Council candidates at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Chesapeake Auditorium on the HCC campus. After a brief presentation on the two ballot questions, a second forum for Board of Education candidates will be held from 8 p.m. to 9:30 also on Sept. 23.
I hope this will help you plan to share the evening with us. The League is also participating in Vote411.org, an email site where candidates are invited to describe basic policy positions and provide further links to their own campaign sites. No editing is done to information provided by the candidates. This system is being used in 28 states. Maryland was second behind Texas in usage of this site for candidate information during the primaries this year.

Very confused the league of women voters is an excellent group who normally has the best interests of the community at heart . That being said why were the candidates running for Sheriff not invited to speak? Public safety should one of their top concerns !!
I agree 100%. A rematch of the most contested race from 2010. A county wide race that involves public safety and not interesting enough for the League of Women Voters. Disappointing.
Why would they want 2 lying Nazi’s to attend? Bane has shown that his priorities are to protect the State’s interest and not that of the community! He has knowingly allowed officer’s to break the law and commit perjury on charging documents in order to gain arrests and convictions. As for Gahler, well, he is a Republican and Republicans don’t believe that a woman has the right to make certain choices, especially when it involves matters that concern their health care or reproductive organs. Spin it any way you want, but neither of these candidates has any integrity, as proven by both sides of the coin right here on the Dagger. The relentless accusations and lies of both parties is nothing but a reminder of the corruption involving not only the Sheriff’s Department, but Law Enforcement in all of Harford County. Once again, why would they want 2 lying Nazi’s to attend?
