Firefighters and Paramedics from the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company delivered a baby just before dawn.
From the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company:
At 4:47 am this morning, the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company (JMVFC) was alerted to a residence in the 500 block of Meadowood Drive, Edgewood, for a woman in labor. Upon arrival, it was found that the child’s birth was imminent so Firefighters and Paramedics prepared themselves.
At 4:58 am, on the 2nd floor of the home, the Edgewood woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl. A loud scream from mom was followed by a loud cry from baby Zoe. Both baby and mom were transported by JMVFC Paramedic unit to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in good condition

I do understand that a child being born in Meadowood is better than a shooting in Meadowood, but is a home birth really newsworthy?

Congrats on another awesome homebirth in Harford County!! Although they probably didn’t need to go to the hospital afterward. Lot’s of germs there.
