From the Aberdeen Police Department:
At about 6:00 PM Tuesday evening, officers responded to the intersection of Rt. 715 (Short Lane) and Old Philadelphia Road for a reported crash with entrapment.
Preliminary investigation indicates a 1997 Saturn, operated by Sarah Bailey 27, of Port Deposit was traveling northbound on Old Philadelphia Road and failed to stop at a red signal striking a 2008 Honda Civic that was traveling west on Rt 715. The Honda was being operated by Ashley Keating 28, of Baltimore. There were two additional occupants in the Saturn, an eight year old female and a one year old male, both from Port Deposit. It took rescue crews some time to extricate the eight year old from the vehicle.
Bailey was transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to Shock Trauma. The eight year old was transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to Johns Hopkins. The one year old was taken to Johns Hopkins by ambulance. Keating was transported to Bayview by ambulance. As of 11:30 PM last night all of the injured were in stable condition.
The investigation continues and charges are pending.
