From Harford County Public Schools:
Last night, school system employees met with the Havre de Grace community to unveil the schematic plan for the future Havre de Grace Middle/High school. Plans include a projected timeline of the school opening to students Fall of 2017. Architectural firm, Grimm and Parker (G+P), shared the research they collected to contribute to the design and layout of the building. G+P understand the need to ensure the structure and materials fit in to the existing Havre de Grace aesthetic and shared some of their plans to accomplish that goal. Members of the community including parents and councilman took to the microphone to applaud efforts thus far, submit questions and enter into dialogue with the architects and school employees about the schematics. Questions and suggestions received last night will continue to be reviewed and considered as this project moves forward. Click here for a PDF version of the presentation, or see below.

Wont anyone think about the children? Who in their right mind would consider building a school on this property? Next to a high speed rail corridor with trains scheduled to travel close to 200 mph. The MARC commuter line, Hazardous freight train traffic. Look at all the recent train derailments around the country. If one comes off the track now the schools are far enough away. In the future the school will be right in the crash zone. Building the new building in a known flood plain. Of course they can rise the ground level and push the flooding on someone else. Tearing down three perfectly good buildings to fulfill someones ego. Not to mention the limited parking for teachers and events, crowded bus loading zone. Dumping all the traffic on a small residential street. What were they thinking with?

Woah, brah, Some real world stuff there.
200mph? I doubt it, maybe 120mph max.
What about the current location of the school? If that chemical factory has a nuclear meltdown. Oh wait. Hero derp.

Great, now that we’ve seen the design, it is time to circular file it. Craig won’t become governor, why keep appeasing him?

Scrap the whole thing and use the obscene amount of money already spent on planning to instead, fund raises for county employees yapping that they havent had a raise. Yes, I know…the planning funds represent capital expenses and falls under a different budget. It still comes from the taxpayers. Money, money, money. I’m so sick of hearing about it in this county.
