That comment is spot on! I’m going out on a limb and saying this kids parents are flaming pieces of excrement and we are looking at a soon to be resident of the harford county detention center!

So this begs the question, “Where the HELL were his parents?”

So, this comment tells me that you, along with most of the news people on TV, do not know what “begging the question” means. It does NOT mean Asking the question or bringing up the question. It is a rhetorical device.

Oh, I am sorry about that, Salad Dressing (I see what you did there). What I wrote is logically valid, but not persuasive, in that it fails to prove anything other than what is already assumed. Therefore, it is indeed a correct use of the term.
My statement was meant to be rhetorical, because we are well aware that an 8-year old starting fires on a playground is under close supervision.
See, that last statement was sarcasm.

I remember reading about the new chief of police of New York City, sometime back in the 1920’s, addressing his senior officers for the first time. He told them that when he was a boy, he would wait until the milkman went to lunch, then unhitch his horse and wagon and go for a ride around the block.
“Are you telling us that the chief of police was once a horse thief,” asked one of his men.
“No,” he replied, “I’m telling you that the chief of police was once a boy.”
The kid is eight years old. Thinking back, I did a lot of dumb things when I was 8. And 18. And 28. Etc…..

You committed arson to State property?
I see your point though, and a good one at that.

First you need to determine who his parents are before you can hold them accountable.
