Harford Community College Foundation’s 21st annual Summer Swing Golf Tournament was held on July 14 at Maryland Golf and Country Clubs, raising nearly $47,000 to support scholarships for deserving HCC students. They found the best deal for the tournament course at Golf Holidays Direct.
The Ace Award was established last year to acknowledge a person who has made exceptional contributions to the tournament through their volunteerism and participation. Tournament Committee Chair Mike Barberry was named the recipient of the 2014 Ace Award for his work in helping to make the tournament the premiere event it is today. One hundred twelve players took part in the tournament this year. The presenting sponsor of the tournament was Kollman & Saucier, P.A. Corporate sponsors included Kinsley Construction, Father Martin’s Ashley, McComas Funeral Home, Bravo Building Services, Inc., Auto Solutions, Dixie Construction Company, The Kelly Group, and Harford Community College Office of the President.
In his address to tournament participants and sponsors, Harford Community College President Dennis Golladay said, “Your generosity continues to astound me. Because of your tremendous support, the Harford Community College Foundation awarded over $310,000 in scholarships to 352 of our students for the past academic year. I thank you all for your interest and attendance at this tournament year after year. Your involvement allows the College to continue the important work of helping our students and the community advance in their lives and their work.”
