A pickup truck sustained serious damage after catching fire near a Whiteford home Tuesday night, fire officials said.
The fire was reported in the passenger compartment of a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 parked in the 3900 block of Grier Nursery Road in Whiteford just before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night, according to a release from the Office of the State Fire Marshal. A total of 25 firefighters from the Whiteford, Bel Air, and Delta, Pa. fire companies responded and brought the blaze under control in approximately 20 minutes.
Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $1,700, according to the fire marshal’s office. The blaze also spread to the exterior wall of an adjacent home, but caused only minor damage and did not displace the home’s residents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
