This happened to my mom several months ago at the Shop rite in Aberdeen. Except it was two women-one distracted her and one took her credit card. We filled out a police report and have never heard a thing. Hope u catch this person.

All to often, women leave their purses open or carts out of their sight while shopping, and especially when placing things on the belt for the cashier. Too easy for someone to reach in and grab a wallet.

Gibby is 100% correct, I’ve seen the same thing way too often. Women, who are shopping, minding their own business, not hurting a soul, leave their purses unattended in the front of their carts. It’s rather stunning, but THEY are not the criminal. My mom had a similar tactic used against her at the Target in Bel Air, except it occurred in the parking lot. She was approached by some woman with a bizarre story, attempting to corner her. Fortunately for Mom, she foiled a robbery attempt by moving away from the woman and getting in her car, locking the doors. She called Target when she got home and they took her claim seriously, reviewed video footage, etc.. I’m still amazed at how many folks don’t know that everything we do is watched on video everywhere!
