From Harford County Public Schools:
This month’s Harford County Special Education Citizen Advisory Council (SECAC) meeting will feature a very informative presentation on “Everything You Wanted To Know About the Common Core State Standards and PARCC Assessments (But Were Afraid To Ask).” Rorrie Fortier and Eileen Watson, two SECAC members, will co-present an overview of the Common Core State Standards, the instructional shift required for successful implementation of the standards, and the new PARCC Assessments that will be implemented starting in the 2014-2015 school year. Their collaborative presentation will also provide information about the accessibility features and accommodations that will be available for the new special education program.
Rorrie Fortier is the coordinator of elementary mathematics in Baltimore County Public Schools and Eileen Watson is the coordinator of compliance in Harford County Public Schools. Their presentation will take place this Thursday, May 15, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. in the HCPS Board Room, 1st floor, A.A. Roberty Building, 102 South Hickory Avenue, Bel Air, MD 21014.
