From Harford County Public Schools:
Brianna Maria Bentley, 11th grade student at the Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) Alternative Education Program, was nominated and selected to attend the first annual Governor’s Leadership Forum for Women and Girls, to be held March 25, in Annapolis.
As a participant in the forum, Brianna will have the opportunity to meet with many of Maryland’s top leaders, including women who work at the highest levels of state government and in other fields, such as business and education. She will learn about the inner workings of government and collaborate with other female students from across Maryland on issues important to her.
Brianna is a member of her school’s Student Government Association and was also actively involved in several school wide initiatives, including a clean up the bay project, canned food drives and Pennies 4 Patients. Brianna is a voracious reader and is passionate about writing. She is currently working on a novel. She hopes to pursue a career in criminal justice/law enforcement.
“Brianna is a great role model for behavior and academics for her peers,” said Alternative Education Program Principal Michael Thatcher. “We’re extremely proud of her and happy to see her recognized with this special honor and opportunity.”
