From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
Harford County Sheriff’s detectives have charged Frank Michael Figinski, 47, with theft over $10,000 and under $100,000, and theft scheme over $10,000 and under $100,000, for his role in using his employer’s company credit card to purchase over $34,000 in lottery tickets.
On March 6, 2014, representatives from Stella Maris Inc. reported to Sheriff’s detectives that Figinski, who was a long-time employee of their company, used a company issued credit card over 200 times between May 2012 and February 2013 to purchase Maryland Lottery tickets from an Abingdon 7-11. The estimated amount of the theft is $34,947.
Figinski, of 2144 Kyle Green Road, Abingdon, was criminally charged on March 17th and is currently pending trial.

How is this possible? Md lottery terminals do not accept credit cards. (I have 6 of them) only way is if he was buying scratch offs.

Did he at least win something? Geesh.
If he would have won something substantial, I wonder if Stella Maris would have a claim to it?
The guy was a “long-time employee” that had an expense account. I imagine that he made well over $34k a year at his job, now he loses his job over $34k in lottery tickets, faces prison time, and won’t be hired in a position of financial trust ever again.

The guy from Abingdon who took $17,000 got 45 days in jail, so this guy should get 90, since he took twice as much.
You have to wonder if he won anything after investing $34K into the lottery.

And a Sheriff’s Office Major appointed and protected by Jesse Bane stole more than that and he got a summer home detention and likely a fat pension. Pays to be friends with L. Jesse.
Green says
What does this story have to do with Bane? Pure bullshit campaigning.
Boot Bane says
Bane worked hard to retain a felon and thief on his payroll. I just thought I would build on the previous comment about how slight the punishment might be. Your boy Bane made a criminal a political issue, so suck it up.

Just goes to show. what the odd’s are of winning, I’am sure his intent was to pay it back after he took the money. With interest of course.

Is there a reason that the exact address of the home is being posted? That’s shouldn’t be allowed.
Neighbor says
As a nearby resident, I agree with the comment regarding his home address. Why is that necessary? The Dagger could have left it as “Abingdon Man” or at most, “a resident of Constant Friendship Townhomes.”

Have you never been to http://casesearch.courts.state.md.us/inquiry/inquiry-index.jsp ?
Pretty easy to find the home address of all the criminals in MD it’s not like it’s a secret.
