Harford Community College has named Theodore M. Wasielewski the director for Human Resources and Employee Development. He began his position on February 10, and in this role he serves as the College’s Chief Human Resources Officer, overseeing the Human Resources and Payroll functions.
Wasielewski earned a B.S. in Agronomy from the University of Maryland and an M.A. in Human Resources from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
Prior to joining the College, he served as the Director of Human Resources and Community Relations at Sephora USA Logistics in Belcamp, MD for 14 years. In this position, his responsibilities included establishing the HR department and its policies and procedures; renegotiating temporary labor agreements; reducing the total cost of labor/sales; recruiting, hiring, and training all supervisors and managers; instituting associate social and awards programs; establishing Sephora Logistics charitable giving program; conducting training sessions; representing Sephora at all unemployment and other legal proceedings; and implementing the Sephora Logistics Wellness Program.
He was formerly employed as Human Resources Manager for Rite Aid Mid-Atlantic Customer Support Center (Perryman, MD) and Director of Human Resources and Vice President of Human Resources for Baltimore Stationery Company (Baltimore).
Wasielewski holds several professional certifications including Certified Zenger Miller Trainer, Certified HR-AVA Analyst, Certified REID Integrity Interviewer, Certified Managing for Results Workshop Leader (Interaction Associates), and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He is also a graduate of the Harford Leadership Academy.
His volunteer leadership activities include serving as chairman, Business Services Committee, Susquehanna Workforce Network; member, Harford County Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturing and Distribution Council; board member, Harford Leadership Academy; past chairman, Maryland State and Harford County Job Service Employer Committees; member, Susquehanna Human Resource Association, Action Committee (2000-2006); and member, Society for Human Resources Management.
