From the Aberdeen Police Department:
[Aberdeen Maryland, February 19, 2014] At about 7:30 p.m. last night officers responded to the 1000 block of Beards Hill Road for a reported attempted armed robbery.
Officers contacted Nick Xereas 66, of Aberdeen who advised he was struck on the back of the head with a gun as he left the ATM vestibule of the PNC Bank. Xereas was knocked to the ground but was able to fight off the suspect. The suspect fled the area on foot. Nothing was taken from the victim. A pellet gun was recovered at the scene.
Xereas received some facial injuries and was transported by ambulance to Harford Memorial Hospital for treatment.
