SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM CAPTAIN JIM
It is hard to believe that another year has come and gone. 2014 will bring with it many new challenges and all of the old ones especially where fiscal responsibility with tax payer money is concerned. The County Executive’s Office is projecting property tax revenues to be flat or slightly lower than the current year while income tax revenues are expected to show a marginal increase. In total the preliminary revenue projections for Fiscal Year 2015 indicate a slight increase of approximately $7.6 million. In addition it is an election year with a primary in June and general in November. This medium, “Coffee Talk”, continues to be one of the most effective means for us to keep in contact. I always want to hear from you whether your e-mail is related to a problem or a thank you for a job completed. I personally have hundreds of folks to thank for helping me do the job as councilman. There is no way I can carry the responsibilities of this job alone. From Debbie my legislative aide, the support staff, to President Boniface I owe them all a thank you for their assistance. Most of all I owe you, my constituents a heartfelt thanks. All of you have helped me carry out the duties of this job during the past years. Thank you one and all. And now a personal note.
I had a wonderful Christmas with my Grandchildren. I hope yours was as fun filled as mine. They are the perfect age to enjoy the magic of the season. My wish for you in this New Year is good health, prosperity and good friends. Please share the positive experiences of the new year with all you know and especially me. God Bless you all and especially our service men and women and the United States of America.
Capt’n Jim
