The Harford County 911 Center has reported several of the accidents occurred on MD Rt. 543. Maryland State Police and Harford County Sheriff’s Office personnel are investigating the reported accidents.
“Melting snow left many roads wet which then iced over as temperatures in the county fell below freezing Sunday”, said Harford County Emergency Manager Rick Ayers. “The result of the subfreezing temperatures has left many roads and bridges covered with a thin layer of ice, which ultimately caused a number of accidents,” Ayers remarked.
