A two-alarm weekend fire displaced 11 occupants of an Edgewood townhouse, fire officials said.
The fire was reported at approximately 8:42 p.m Saturday night by the owner of a two-story townhouse on the 1700 block of Judy Way in Edgewood, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal. A total of 45 firefighters from the Joppa, Abingdon, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Fallston, Bel Air, Kingsville and White Marsh fire companies brought the blaze under control in about 20 minutes.
The fire was traced to unattended cooking taking place in the kitchen, and was ruled accidental. Damage to the home was estimated at $50,000, while damages to its contents were estimated at $10,000. The blaze displaced five adults and six children, who were being assisted by Harford County Disaster Assistance, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
