From the Harford County Public Library:
Good weather, local farm products, live music, and children’s activities attracted nearly 600 individuals to Jarrettsville’s Twilight Market in Jarrett’s Field on October 5th. A fundraiser for the Jarrettsville Lions Club and the Harford County Public Library, the Twilight Market offered families an opportunity to enjoy a unique “Buy Local” event.
More than 50 vendors including farms, nurseries, local businesses and community organizations participated in the spirited outdoor event which included live music by Almost Certain, and wine tastings from Fiore, Harford Vineyards, and L’amore di Vino, and distributor Bacchus Importers, LTD. Craft beer tastings were offered by DuClaw Brewing Company and Sentman Distributors.
“We were very happy with the response from the community,” said Amber Shrodes, Foundation Director of Harford County Public Library and an organizer of the event. “The Jarrettsville Community came together to develop the Twilight Market with the mission to create a fun, free, “Buy Local” experience that families could enjoy. The music, food and activities were terrific, and our partnering farmers, vineyards and breweries were pleased. Rumors for a 2nd Annual Twilight Market are circulating.”
Fresh organic veggies, delicious local meats, cheeses, baked goods and ice cream were available for purchase from Shaw Orchards, Granova Poultry, Daily Crisis Farm, Hickory Chance Beef, Beichlers Beyond Family Farm and Hawks Hill Farm. Herbs, plants, compost and stunning bouquets were offered by participants Greenspring Nursery and Gift House, Chesnut Spring Farm, Heston’s Greenhouse, Deer Creek Valley Tree Farm, and Flowers by Bauers.

Car shows, the renowned Jarrettsville Carnival, and annual flea markets have become a tradition for Harford County families. I hope the Twilight Market does too.”
