From KHZTV:
Aberdeen, Md., September 30, 2013– Longtime Baltimore afternoon DJ “Stash,” formerly with 98 Rock, has found a new home on the KHZTV Radio Network and KHZTV.com airwaves.
Stephen G. Smith, known to listeners as “Stash,” will be hosting the popular entertainment station’s Monday through Friday morning radio program from 7-10 AM starting Wednesday, October 2.
“I am very excited about being back on the air and talking to my listeners in the Maryland area. We will be bringing exciting creative radio back to morning drive,” “Stash” explained.
With a new multimedia concept, KHZTV.com is a super simulcast of an internet TV channel and Maryland’s only statewide radio network. The KHZTV.com programming targets the 35 to 54 year old active adult audience with a high energy mix of 40 years of Top 40 tunes, music videos, hot new virals and entertainment news..a 2013 version of the original MTV.
“We are really excited to have Stash join the KHZTV family. There has been a big hole in the Baltimore area radio market since his departure from 98 Rock and we are looking forward to providing the people of Baltimore with an opportunity to hear him again,” Tracy Hart, General Manager of KHZTV Network, said.
KHZTV.com has the largest station reach in the Baltimore area with the KHZTV.com’s programming being simulcasted on 970 WAMD in Harford County, 810 WYRE in Anne Arundel and Baltimore Counties and 1460 WKHZ in Talbot County.
In addition to the three current stations KHZTV.com just added 1330 WJSS on Monday covering Baltimore County through New Castle County Delaware creating the largest radio reach in Maryland.

So who do I call to get my product advertised. LOL
Rob MacKenzie says
If you want to reach about 5 people, then give them a call! 😉
Terry Hartison says
I don’t know whether to feel sorry for him or not.
Hazzard Native says
How many people listen to AM radio nowadays? Of those people, how many want to hear music through the static, whirring and whining? Good luck.
Pavel314 says
I tune in WBAL 1090 during rush hour for their traffic reports on the 5’s but that’s about it for AM.
Terry Hartison says
I think they’re trying to sell themselves as the MTV of the internet. With some of the garbage I’ve seen and heard on there, I don’t think it will last. They should put a sign up that reads for 18 and older after the filth I saw and heard on there recently.
Common Sense says
The AM radio business model is alive and well.
Especially since you can listen on iHeart Radio for free.
I listen to KFI, WHAS and WCBM with absolutely no static.
Rob MacKenzie says
Common Sense, not all AM stations are on iHeart. Not sure how you are listening to WCBM on iHeart, as they do not use that app. The AM business model is not alive and well, at least not in this area. Stations that offer only one live DJ during the entire day, no useful community news or information and playing the same stuff I can hear on more powerful FM stations is not a great business model for an AM.
Common Sense says
Yes WCBM is not on iHeart.
WCBM has its own free App.

Good News~! Congrats! I like to read “good news”.

Who listens to AM/FM these days? Satellite radio is really the way to go for music, or your own music device plugged in through your automobiles head unit.
Need traffic? Most people have smart phones, load up your map and click “Traffic.” It’s 10,000x more accurate of your specific route, and is always up to date plus…. no waiting 10 minutes to hear the “Traffic report”
HEEEE HAWWW HE HAWWWWWWWW
Pavel314 says
My new car came with a trial subscription to Sirius. They have three good classical (classical as symphony, not hits from the 80’s) music channels but they keep blinking off for a second at random times, which is very annoying. I googled and found this is a common complaint with Sirius.
Rob MacKenzie says
And half the time, the traffic report never even touches the road that you are on, or need the report for. The traffic lady on the AM station in Baltimore is horrible. She spends more time with fluff words than actually giving me the updates.
Brian says
7-10am? Real morning shows start at 6am!
Good luck to this guy with all his demons. He was a danger to himself and anybody on the road around him. I hope he conquers those demons and if this job helps him do it then I wish him the best.

YO DUDE, WHERE SHOULD I DROP OFF THE KEGS? HAHAHA

AM has HD and Stereo. Get a new radio or use the iheart app. Glad he’s making an attempt at changing his life for the good.
Rob MacKenzie says
Actually, AM does not have Stereo anymore…nor HD in this area. This station is also NOT streamed on the iHeart Radio app..so either you have to sit infront of your computer or deal with the static of AM radio. And, this network does not have better reach than the FMs in Baltimore, as most reach three states DAY AND NIGHT. Playing the same stuff as a highpowered FM station is not going to make people listen to AM radio, so good luck with this earth shattering concept.
Five Iron says
Rob thanks for the info. I didn’t know they dropped all of those features on AM. I just listen to Sirius/XM. FM is just Rap, Oldies and Screaming RW Radio anymore.
Rob MacKenzie says
Yeah, it was all dropped since most AM broadcasters do not have the revenue to support it, or the audience that can receive the benefits. AM in this area is mostly religious, sports, angry political talk or foreign language, so it will be hard grabbing listeners that are “just scanning the dial for something to listen to” like back in the days. The website that the station is on is just as bad, always freezing up my computers and really lacks any good content. I’m not sure why they feel the need to show me the dj announcing the songs on the webcam, but maybe that is just me.
Knucklehead says
Every day people are overcoming their addictions and getting on with their lives, this is a good thing for him and his family. I’m really happy for him, and I hope he stays on the road of sobriety. I’ll take a listen, Best wishes to him.
TheSpoiler says
Good for him. 98 rock is garbage.

This idiot screwed up AGAIN.
