From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
[September 11, 2013, Whiteford, MD] — At approximately 2:28 a.m. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 1600 block of Main Street in Whiteford for a report of a burglary and sexual assault. It was also reported the suspect had a weapon.
The victim, a 40 year old female, told deputies the suspect broke into her home and assaulted her. She described him as a black male, 25-30 years old, 5’9-5’11, 200lbs, short hair, black hoody, and jeans. She told police the suspect punched her and cut her and then attempted to sexually assault her. A barking dog may have caused him to stop and flee the home.
Deputies searched the area and posted a lookout with Pennsylvania State Police however they were not able to locate a suspect. The victim did suffer minor injuries and was transported to Harford Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Deputies are continuing their investigation and are asking anyone having any information is asked to contact Detective Joseph Peters of the Harford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at 410-836-5014.
