From the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office:
Deputy State Fire Marshals and police officers with Havre De Grace Police Department have charged a 32 year old Havre De Grace man with intentionally setting a dumpster on fire located at Tydings Park, 300 Commerce Street on August 4, 2013 at 1:30 AM. The early morning fire caused less than $1,000.00 in damages to the dumpster. Havre De Grace Police determined Robert C. Hall of 720 Erie Street intentionally ignited the dumpster and located Hall a short time later. Havre De Grace Police Department requested investigators with the Office of the State Fire Marshal to the scene for evidence collection and assistance.
Havre De Grace police officers quickly controlled the fire with a portable extinguisher before it spread to any other property. There were no injuries and the local fire department was not requested.
Hall was served with a criminal citation by the Deputy State Fire Marshals and charged with Possession of CDS, Malicious Destruction of Property in excess of $500, Alcohol related charges and Disorderly Conduct by Havre De Grace Police Department. Hall is currently being held at Harford County Detention Center on $10,000.00 bond.
