UPDATE: The victim in last night’s fatal crash has been identified as Daniel Kolb, age 39, of the 3600 blk. of Woodsdale Road in Abingdon, MD.
From the Harford County Sheriff’s Office:
At approximately 6:30 pm, on July 27, 2013, Harford County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the scene of a single vehicle crash on Winters Run Road in Joppa, MD.
According to deputies, the preliminary investigation indicates a white male, was traveling south, in a Mitsubishi Eclipse, when he failed to navigate a turn in the road. The car struck an embankment causing the vehicle to flip over onto its roof. EMS from Joppa Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company responded and pronounced the driver to be deceased at the time of arrival. No other occupants were in the car.
Winters Run Road will remain closed from Singer Road to Fashion Way for the next few hours during the investigation. The driver’s name has not been released at this time while next of kin is notified.
All events occurred in Harford County.
