So right across the street from the 100+ (200+) apartments/condos, they’re planning to build a little retail strip mall to attract nearby residents? (I doubt the mares and fouls across the road have any interest).
And, in addition to all of the expected extra traffic from the new residents entering and exiting at that intersection, there will also be lots more cars trying to get in and out from the scarce source of commercial retail (maybe another 7-11?? or perhaps some nifty fast foods drive-thru??). My, what a busy intersection we are creating. And it’s only a 2-lane road!! Oh yes, it can be expanded = 4 lanes!! Right near Winters Run and all the wetlands. Might as well just pave that over, too.
It will be interesting to see the calamity in winter when Rt. 1 freezes and folks are trying to leave Bel Air to head south. That very steep incline from Fanny Hill Road when everyone is stopped at red lights ahead will make for some very interesting challenges as they try to get a grip going uphill.
Folks – as concerned citizens who live in this county, please make some time to go to these community input meetings — learn more about what’s happening. It doesn’t look good.
