From the Maryland State Police:
(OAKWOOD, MD) – After completion of the autopsy and through information developed during the continuing investigation, it has been determined the injuries sustained by a Harford County man found dead along Route 1 last Friday are consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
Based on evidence observed by doctors at the office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office and the continuing efforts of the Maryland State Police, it has been determined that the injuries sustained by Mark T. Grubbs of Pylesville, MD were sustained after being struck by a vehicle in the area of Sweeny’s Bar located in the 100-block of Conowingo Road, Conowingo, MD on July 5, 2013. That morning, around 2:40 a.m., troopers from the North East Barrack responded to calls for a male lying in the roadway. The male was later identified as Grubbs and pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel.
Troopers are still investigating to determine what exactly occurred. Investigators currently do not have any description of a vehicle or vehicles involved in the hit and run. Investigators would like to talk to anyone who may have been in the area of Sweeny’s Bar, that night. This road is known to be well traveled and anyone with information is urged to contact Senior Trooper Vogt at 410-996-7800. Callers may remain confidential.
The investigation is ongoing.
