The Board of Directors of The Harford Center is seeking highly qualified candidates to apply for an Executive Director position. The Harford Center is a Day Habilitation Program located near Havre de Grace Maryland that serves adults with disabilities. Currently, The Harford Center serves 119 individuals and is looking to expand to a second site in Harford County to serve a growing need.
The Director will be responsible for the daily operations and transportation programs; supervision and evaluation of staff; preparation of the operating and program budget; coordination of annual audits by an outside agency; oversight of all contract entities within Board specified funding limits; reporting to Board of Directors; attending and participating in all Board Meetings and other meetings at State and County levels as they relate to The Harford Center; coordination of Developmental Disability Administration (DDA) audits; representing The Harford Center to government, civic, and business communities; and compliance with all federal and state legal and regulatory requirements.
Candidates must have a strong background in vocational rehabilitation and human services, extensive knowledge and /or experience of service provision to people with disabilities, experience in program development, strong leadership skills, good interpersonal/communication skills including written and oral presentation, a positive attitude and the ability to work with a team.
Education/ Experience: Master’s degree in vocational rehabilitation or a related human service field and/ or 5 years directly related experience in a combination of education and experience with citizens with disabilities.
